Permitting and Performance Manager

We’re currently recruiting an experienced Permitting and Performance Manager to join a dynamic Highways Contractor team on a freelance basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to take the lead in delivering compliant and efficient street works and permitting operations using the latest systems and best practices.

• Oversee and manage all Street Works activities for the business
• Lead and support a small team, including Permitting Officers
• Ensure compliance with NRSWA, HAUC guidelines, and permit schemes
• Liaise with local authorities and internal teams to coordinate works
• Use Street Manager system for permits and noticing
• Manage inspections, permitting workflows, and performance reporting
• Drive continuous improvement in operational delivery and compliance

• Proven experience in a Street Works Manager or Lead role
• Strong working knowledge of NRSWA and Street Manager system
• Experience managing permits and working with local councils
• Effective communicator with leadership skills and a detail-focused approach
• Able to work independently in a freelance capacity
