We’re excited to recruit for an Asset Compliance Manager to lead our statutory compliance function, ensuring our homes remain safe, compliant and fit for the future.

Reporting to the Head of Building Safety & Compliance, you’ll provide strategic and operational leadership across our compliance portfolio. You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring we meet all legislative and regulatory requirements while delivering robust assurance to our Executive Team, Board and our customers.

As a key member of the Building Safety & Compliance leadership team, you’ll work collaboratively with the Lead Building Safety Manager and senior colleagues to deliver a coordinated, risk-based approach to asset safety and compliance. You’ll also deputise for the Head of Building Safety & Compliance when required, representing Golding Homes internally and externally and contributing to the strategic direction of the service.

The Role

You’ll lead, motivate and develop a high-performing compliance team while overseeing key compliance areas, including fire, gas, electrical, asbestos, water hygiene, lifts and mechanical and electrical systems.

You’ll drive excellence in compliance management, governance, contractor performance and customer safety, providing clear performance reporting to senior leaders and supporting audits and regulatory inspections. You’ll also manage budgets, contracts and contractor performance, using data and insight to improve services, strengthen compliance and deliver excellent customer outcomes.

Working closely with colleagues, contractors and regulators, you’ll help deliver a coordinated approach to building safety and asset compliance. You’ll also deputise for the Head of Building Safety & Compliance, contributing to the strategic leadership and ongoing development of the service.

About you.

You’ll be an experienced leader with a strong background in statutory compliance within housing, property or asset management. You’ll have an excellent understanding of the legislative and regulatory framework governing building and asset compliance, together with significant experience of managing compliance services across multiple disciplines.

You’ll be confident leading and developing teams, managing complex contracts and budgets, and building effective relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. You’ll be comfortable presenting assurance and performance information to senior leaders and able to use data and insight to drive informed decisions and continuous improvement.

What can you bring?
  • A degree, professional qualification or equivalent experience in Building Surveying, Asset Management, Engineering, Building Safety, Compliance or a related discipline.
  • A NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent Health & Safety qualification)
  • Significant experience leading statutory asset compliance services within social housing or another highly regulated property environment, with a strong understanding of the Building Safety Act 2022 and the wider regulatory environment for social housing.
  • Proven experience leading and developing high-performing technical or multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience managing complex compliance contracts, procurement and budgets, delivering value for money and excellent customer outcomes.
  • Experience developing compliance strategies, policies and assurance frameworks with the ability to present performance, risk and assurance information to senior leaders.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire, influence and develop others.
  • Strong analytical and financial management skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide robust assurance and strategic recommendations.
  • A full driving licence and DBS are required for this role.
