Staff Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Staff Accountant to join our team in Winslow, Maine. The Staff Accountant will work closely with the Senior Staff Accountant to support daily accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and contribute to the overall efficiency of the accounting department.

• Prepare account reconciliations and journal entries to support the general ledger closings
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
• Assist with billing, accounts receivable and accounts payable activities
• Support external audits with documentation and reporting
• Monitor and improve internal accounting procedures
• Post transactions and categorize records in the general ledger

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum 2 years of experience in an accounting department
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP
• Proficiency in using accounting software within an ERP environment (e.g., Epicor, Oracle, SAP, Quick Books) – Epicor preferred, in order to record journal entries and reconcile account activity
• Excellent / Advanced User skills in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
