Credit Specialist II

Primarily responsible for writing new business reports and processing customer credit applications. Provides answers to customer inquiries on new, out-of-date and in-date credit report files. This role has team leadership responsibility within the Information team and provides direct guidance to the Credit Specialist I role.

• Provides training and leadership to team members.
• Resolves customer disputes matters escalated by the Credit Specialist I.
• Recommends a credit advisement/limit based on information obtained while processing the credit application or new business report.
• Exercises judgement related to news or derogatory information including a "stop" or "downgrade" to risk score.
• Remains knowledgeable of current events and how they impact our customer's business.
• Uses judgement to determine validity and authenticity of any credit request.
• Provides professional assistance to both Information and Service clients.
• Maintains confidentiality and security of company and client information.
• Manages a consistent flow of work to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Checks-in with clients daily.
• Applies quality assurance standards to all credit reports published.
• Assists with daily search for newswire stories as well as writes the stories on an as needed basis.
• Complies with agency management system data standards and data integrity (enter and maintain complete and accurate information).

Bachelor's Degree

Three (3) or more years of related work experience

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Proven skills in time management, multi-tasking and meeting deadlines
• Excellent customer service skills, including telephone and listening skills
• Ability to pay close attention to detail
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude in challenging interactions
• Ability to work within a team and foster teamwork
