The Purchasing Manager – Sourcing & MRO will manage all phases of the MRO / Services purchasing operation of Twin Rivers Paper Company, including Storeroom operations. The Purchasing Manager will ensure timely supply of goods and or services that are critical to the firm’s ability to meet its core business objectives. Strategically develops and implements supply chain strategies covering all assigned commodities and supplier processes to deliver maximum value and leverage.
They will evaluate suppliers and negotiate contracts to achieve the lowest price for high quality goods.
- Maintain adherence to Company policies and safety guidelines.
- Manage supplier relationships
- Evaluate quality, pricing, reliability, technical support and availability of goods and services.
- Develop purchasing strategies that ensure availability of required inventory consistent with the Company’s budget
- Optimize P&L contribution through development and execution of cost reduction strategic initiatives
- Develop strategy to minimize impact of market inflation
- Support CAPEX / major Maintenance initiatives through contract negotiations and proposal of potential alternative options
- Develop and monitor key metrics to gauge effectiveness of the procurement functions
- Provide leadership for direct reports
- BS degree from accredited college/university preferred but not required.
- 5+ years’ experience in procurement/materials management/supply chain or relevant experience in pulp and paper industry.
Education and Experience
- BS degree from accredited college/university in Supply Chain Management, Business/Finance or Engineering.
- Experience in the pulp and paper industry managing portfolio of similar products
- Experience negotiating supplier contracts
- Strong and effective communication skills
- Able to work independently and in a team environment
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills
- Effective leadership abilities
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Power point and Access
