The Sheepscot Valley Children's House (SVCH), located in Wiscasset, ME, is looking for two nurturing, creative, and flexible full-time assistant teachers to join our team! Both of these positions will be 40-hours per week and will provide coverage during our hours of operation, 7 am - 5 pm, Monday through Friday (the hours and days assigned will vary based on coverage needs).
The teaching assistants will work primarily with our two Toddler programs, which enroll children ages 18 months up to 3 years.
SVCH is a non-profit school and licensed childcare center serving children from birth through Pre-Kindergarten. We have been a staple in Midcoast Maine for over 40 years and our priority is to provide high quality childcare in a nurturing environment. We welcome children to learn about themselves, other people, the arts, nature, and the world and emphasize respect for oneself and others, and reverence for the human spirit and intellect.
We provide a nurturing and stimulating environment where children are guided toward the pleasure of learning, sometimes in the company of friends and teachers, and sometimes quietly on their own. We have a team of experienced and dedicated staff, along with five well-equipped classrooms and an expansive outdoor space overlooking the Sheepscot River.
The salary for this position starts at $19-$21 per hour, based on experience.
Currently, we cannot support part-time employment for these positions, so applicants must be able to work 40-hours per week. Unfortunately, we have a waitlist for childcare and no open childcare slots for applicants in need of childcare.
