Job DescriptionOverview:
The Medical Director will be responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction in all medical and clinical aspects of the organization. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, quality improvement, and collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
- Provide medical oversight and leadership to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
- Develop and implement clinical protocols and guidelines in accordance with best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement in clinical outcomes and patient safety.
- Collaborate with executive leadership and department heads to develop and execute strategic initiatives.
- Participate in budget planning and resource allocation related to medical services.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as accreditation standards.
- Recruit, supervise, and evaluate medical staff including physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals.
- Provide mentoring and professional development opportunities for clinical staff.
- Monitor and evaluate clinical performance metrics and quality indicators.
- Implement quality improvement initiatives based on data analysis and feedback.
- Serve as a liaison between the organization and the local medical community.
- Represent the organization at community events, conferences, and professional meetings.
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.
- Board certification in a relevant specialty.
- Active medical license in the state of Maine.
- Proven leadership experience in a clinical or administrative role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced degree in healthcare management or business administration.
- Experience working in a similar role within a healthcare organization.
- Knowledge of healthcare policies, regulations, and reimbursement practices.
