Job Description

Overview:
The Medical Director will be responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction in all medical and clinical aspects of the organization. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, quality improvement, and collaboration with other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership:

Provide medical oversight and leadership to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
Develop and implement clinical protocols and guidelines in accordance with best practices and regulatory requirements.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement in clinical outcomes and patient safety.

Administrative Duties:

Collaborate with executive leadership and department heads to develop and execute strategic initiatives.
Participate in budget planning and resource allocation related to medical services.
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as accreditation standards.

Provider Management:

Recruit, supervise, and evaluate medical staff including physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals.
Provide mentoring and professional development opportunities for clinical staff.

Quality Assurance:

Monitor and evaluate clinical performance metrics and quality indicators.
Implement quality improvement initiatives based on data analysis and feedback.

Community Engagement:

Serve as a liaison between the organization and the local medical community.
Represent the organization at community events, conferences, and professional meetings.

Qualifications

Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.
Board certification in a relevant specialty.
Active medical license in the state of Maine.
Proven leadership experience in a clinical or administrative role.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced degree in healthcare management or business administration.
Experience working in a similar role within a healthcare organization.
Knowledge of healthcare policies, regulations, and reimbursement practices.
