Adult Education Literacy Tutor

Overview

RSU 16 Adult Education is looking for a flexible self-starter with the ability and initiative to facilitate individual and small group reading and English language lessons. The right person for our collaborative team is:

• willing and able to provide differentiated reading and language instruction for students of different ages, backgrounds and language levels at various academic and English proficiency levels.
• adept at multi-tasking with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• sensitive and committed to maintaining confidentiality.
• computer proficient with internet, email and various Google or Microsoft applications, and willing to learn other platforms as appropriate for learners.
• willing and able to engage in professional development opportunities as necessary.

This position operates on a 12 to 15-hour per week schedule throughout the school year and over a 5-week summer session.

This is a non-certified position. Associate degree or at least 1 year of relevant experience with knowledge of basic reading instructional strategies and/or programs preferred. Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) required.
