Location: Fryeburg
Residential Life Activities Coordinator (School Year and August Athletics Preseason)
To promote and ensure a living environment and experience in which Fryeburg Academy boarding students will thrive, the Residential Life Activities Coordinator provides program support that is innovative, supportive, and collaborative. The coordinator works with an engaged staff and acquaints themselves with each student in the program, takes a primary role in planning, logistics, organization, and implementation of residential life student activities and special events.
Responsibilities- Collaborate on the design and planning of the weekend activities program with the Res Life staff.
- Lead weekend duty team communications to assign weekend duties and prepare the weekend itinerary.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of special community‑wide events.
- Assist in the organization, planning, and execution of the Dorm Olympics.
- Assist in preseason program activities.
- Assist in planning monthly events/activities during night and weekend hours for resident students.
- Actively promote weekend activities and special events in dorms, at meals, and through signage and communications.
- Coordinate and supervise departures of after‑school trips.
- Assist with afternoon supervision in the dormitories.
- Assist with the various needs of students.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Maintain student activity database and track student participation in weekend activities.
- Coordinate communications to resident students regarding meetings, special events, and activities.
- Assist in ordering supplies/equipment for activities.
- Assist in the organization of Res Life activity supplies.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Part‑time position, averaging 20 hours per week, not exceeding 32 hours, with regular school week hours of 12 pm–5 pm.
- Time off will be coordinated with the director of residential life.
- Position begins at the start of preseason athletics and continues through the conclusion of the school year in June; daily hours vary and include school day and afternoon hours, occasional evening and weekend hours for special events.
- Strong belief in independent education and the mission of Fryeburg Academy.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Proficiency in Excel and Google Docs; experience with Blackbaud is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills; ability to balance office duties and timelines.
- Commitment to office team processes.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience working with youth in a residential school setting or youth development program.
- Hourly employee, part‑time.
