Winslow High School is seeking a compassionate, dynamic, and student‑centered educator to join our dedicated Special Education team as a Life Skills Teacher. This full‑time position focuses on delivering instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs, helping them develop the functional, academic, and social‑emotional skills necessary for independence and post‑secondary success.

Key Responsibilities- Design and implement individualized instruction aligned with IEP goals in areas such as daily living skills, vocational readiness, social development, and functional academics.
- Create a supportive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes independence, confidence, and real‑world readiness.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, educational technicians, case managers, therapists, and families to support student progress and inclusion.
- Coordinate community‑based learning and transition planning activities.
- Monitor and report student progress using data‑driven practices and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with district and state guidelines.
- Maine State Certification in Special Education (or eligibility).
- Experience working with students with intellectual disabilities, autism, or developmental delays preferred.
- Knowledge of functional life skills instruction and transition planning.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
