Grade 3 Teacher (Long‑Term Substitute)

Anticipated to start at the beginning‑to‑middle of January 2026 – end of the school year.

Sacopee Valley Schools are nestled between the Saco and Ossipee Rivers in the town of Hiram, Maine. Students from the surrounding towns of Baldwin, Cornish, Parsonsfield, and Porter attend Sacopee Valley. The district is conveniently located 30 minutes from North Conway, NH and 45 minutes from Portland. The area offers abundant recreational opportunities—including water activities at local ponds and lakes, winter sports at King Pine or Pleasant Mountain, hiking, camping, fishing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and antiquing.

Sacopee Valley educates students in grades Pre‑K–12 with just under 1,000 students. The district’s small classes and schools allow teachers to know and inspire their students. Technology is widely available: every student in grades 3‑12 receives a new Mac Book Air, while students in grades K‑2 receive Mac Books and iPads. Sacopee Valley also embraces the TURN Union Reform work that encourages teacher leadership, aiming to provide the education all students deserve.

• Prior successful experience as an elementary‑level classroom teacher or elementary‑level student‑teaching experience
• Experience building positive relationships with students and supporting student success
• Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively
• Knowledge of differentiating instruction to meet the needs of all learners
• Demonstrated commitment to standards‑based practices
• Current Maine Elementary K‑8/K‑6 Certification (020) or Early Elementary PK‑3 (029)
