Join Serving Schools as a Special Education Teacher for Behavior Room at Spruce Mountain Primary School (RSU #73). We’re looking for a compassionate and patient teacher to work with K‑2 students who have social, emotional, and/or behavioral difficulties.

• Develop individualized education programs (IEPs) aligned with each student’s academic, functional, and social‑emotional needs.
• Coordinate the delivery of special education services, complete necessary paperwork, and adhere to timelines.
• Evaluate students’ learning capacity and adapt lesson plans accordingly.
• Communicate effectively with parents, counselors, and teachers to discuss progress and future needs.
• Provide proactive behavior interventions for students with significant emotional, behavioral, academic, and social concerns.
• Deliver research‑based instruction to address goals and objectives in each IEP.
• Employ varied teaching techniques to help students meet IEP goals.
• Consult with classroom teachers regarding adaptations, modifications, adaptive equipment, behavior plans, and other interventions.

• Maine Department of Education certification (282 endorsement) or equivalent.
• Criminal history records check/fingerprinting approval.
• Preferred: experience working with at‑risk or students with academic, social, and behavioral concerns.

• Cover letter with detailed resume.
