Part‑Time Horticulture / Outdoor Education Teacher (K–12)
Islesboro Central School is seeking a part‑time (50 %) horticulture teacher to lead hands‑on, outdoor learning experiences for K–12 students in our school garden and greenhouse. The ideal candidate has experience with gardening, horticulture, or environmental science and enjoys working with students of all ages. Maine teacher certification is preferred; a current criminal history records check (CHRC) is required.
Responsibilities- Plan and teach age‑appropriate horticulture and outdoor education lessons
- Support garden and greenhouse maintenance
- Lead seasonal activities such as planting, harvesting, and composting
- Promote environmental stewardship and outdoor learning
Islesboro Central School is a small K‑12 school on the island of Islesboro, accessible by a 20‑minute ferry ride from Lincolnville.
