Long-Term Substitute Teacher - Grade 3

Overview

Are you a dedicated educator ready to guide a wonderful group of third graders through the remainder of their school year? Wiscasset Schools is seeking an exceptional Long-Term Substitute Teacher for Grade 3 who will provide consistency, care, and engaging instruction from February through June.

This long-term substitute role offers a unique opportunity to become an integral part of our school community for the spring semester. You will take the helm of an established classroom, build meaningful relationships with students and families, and help young learners finish their third-grade year strong. This is more than temporary coverage—it is a chance to truly connect with students during crucial months of growth and learning.

• Creating student-centered learning experiences that meet each child where they are
• Building meaningful connections with students, families, and colleagues
• Bringing standards-based learning to life through engaging, innovative instruction
• Stepping into an established classroom and providing stability and continuity

• Required:
  
  K-8 teacher certification with ME DOE general elementary endorsement (020)
• Required:
  
  Elementary classroom teaching experience
• Strong communication skills that bridge home and school
• Effective, appropriate classroom management that balances structure with warmth
• A collaborative spirit and flexibility to work with an established curriculum
• The ability to build rapport quickly and maintain positive classroom routines

Duration: February 2025 through end of school year (June 2025)

Start Date: February 2025 (specific date to be determined)
