Qualifications: K-8 Elementary Endorsement (020);
Teaching Certification with a music endorsement is preferred.

Yarmouth Elementary School is seeking a part-time long-term substitute Band Teacher to provide beginning band instruction to fourth- and fifth-grade students. The position runs November 19 through December 22, Monday–Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The successful candidate will provide engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction in beginning band, establish positive relationships with students, maintain a supportive, well-managed learning environment, and help students develop foundational skills on instruments.

Responsibilities include:

• preparing and delivering lessons
• teaching proper instrument technique and care
• supporting music reading and ensemble skills
• assessing student progresscommunicating effectively with students, families, and school staff

Preferred qualifications include:

• experience teaching instrumental music or beginning band
• strong classroom management and communication skills
• knowledge of beginning instrumental instruction
• the ability to create a positive, encouraging experience for young musicians
