Civil Engineer

Position Overview

Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) is a leading power engineering consulting firm that provides engineering, system planning, and technical consultation services to electric utilities, energy developers, and industrials across the U.S. ECI is seeking a Civil Engineer to focus on structural engineering and site design for substations and power delivery facilities.

• Develop design criteria, structure design, foundation design, building design, and related works for standard shape steel and tubular steel structures, fire walls, and related facilities.
• Design foundations using drilled pier, shallow/pad, and spread footing foundations.
• Develop grading, drainage, and access road designs (paved and unpaved) with vehicle maneuvering and haul road analysis.
• Specify and design retaining walls, perimeter walls, fences, gates, and stormwater infrastructure; interpret hydrology studies.
• Perform site civil engineering tasks using AutoCAD Civil 3D and related software.
• May perform project management functions including scoping, budgeting, scheduling, team leadership, project monitoring, client interface, and reporting based on experience and interest.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organization, planning, and teamwork abilities.
• Proficiency in structural design software such as STAAD.Pro, Risa, LPILE, MFAD, CAISSON, and Visual Analysis.
• AutoCAD Civil 3D experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and design tools.
• PE license is preferred but not required.
• Ability to undergo client‑mandated drug and background checks.
• Occasional travel and driving required; must meet ECI auto insurance carrier requirements.
• Must not require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future.
