Clinician, Integrated Behavioral Health, Family Medicine

Central Maine Healthcare is seeking an Integrated Behavioral Health Clinician (LCSW, LCPC) to provide behavioral health assessment and short‑term behavioral health therapy to primary care patients within the Swift River and Elsmore Dixfield Family Medicine practices in Rumford, ME. This is a full‑time, 40‑hour per week position with a robust benefits package and competitive salary. The Clinician will be a fully integrated team member, documenting in the electronic health record, providing services to referred patients and offering education and consultation as requested.

Education

& Experience
  • Master’s degree in social work, professional counseling or related field that leads directly to a clinical therapy license in Maine.
  • Maine LCSW, LCPC or other related professional license to provide therapy in Maine.
  • 2 years post‑licensure experience preferred.
  • Experience in a medical setting preferred.
  • Experience working with a wide range of behavioral health disorders preferred.
  • Experience providing behavioral health assessment and short‑term treatment preferred.

  • Collaborates with patients on behavioral health plans of care.
  • Aligns behavioral health plan with overall practice plan of care.
  • Defaults to goal‑oriented, problem‑solving, cognitive‑behavioral approaches unless exceptions are documented.
  • Focuses treatment on skill building with homework and skill practice during sessions.
  • Provides short and intermediate‑term treatment, scheduling check‑ups as indicated.
  • Initiates external referrals when more intensive or specialty treatment is needed.
  • Stays apprised of community resources and maintains positive relationships.
  • Communicates relevant clinical developments to patients’ providers.
  • Keeps up to date with research and best practices.
  • Remains mindful of ethical issues and seeks peer or supervisory support when needed.
Operational Elements
  • Adheres to schedule template and productivity standards, collaborating with office staff on scheduling.
  • Follows office protocols for time off requests and exceptions.
  • Works with leadership to troubleshoot workflow challenges.
  • Complies with office standards.
  • Documents key clinical points clearly, concisely, and within expected time frames.
  • Communicates problems, concerns, and ideas with supervisors, leadership, and the behavioral health director.
  • Collaborates on practice improvement initiatives.
  • Ensures patient confidentiality and rights per regulations and policies.
  • Consistently attends and participates in clinical and administrative supervision.
