Pharmacy Customer Service Associate

Base pay range

$16.00/hr - $18.00/hr

• Models and delivers a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
• Registers sales on assigned cash register and provides courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service.
• In accordance with state and federal regulations, assists the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy. Uses pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
• Provides customers with courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service. Recommends items for sale and facilitates add-on recommendations.
• Registers customer purchases, handles payments, and processes voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges as needed. Assists customers in locating products where possible.
• Keeps counters and shelves clean and well merchandised, takes inventory, and maintains records. Supports entry and pricing of merchandise as directed.
• Supports Pharmacy Department operations by entering patient and drug information, assisting in filling prescriptions, verifying accuracy, and checking for possible interactions. Assists pharmacists in scheduling and workflow.
• Reports prescription errors promptly to the pharmacist on duty and adheres to company policies related to pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program. Complies with the Pharmacy Code of Conduct and Good Faith Dispensing policies.
• Handles routine phone calls and assists with third-party prescription services, as directed by the Pharmacy Manager.
• Assists with inventory management for pharmaceuticals and maintains knowledge of asset protection procedures.
• Maintains compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products where applicable, and assists with product displays, stock rotation, and shelf placement as directed.
• Provides customer service in additional areas such as photo services and web order pickup where applicable.
• Supports store upkeep, exterior and interior maintenance, and general cleanliness and appearance of the store.
• Completes special assignments and other tasks as directed by supervisors.

• Earns and maintains PTCB certification through designated training programs and/or state-required certification/registration.
• Attends training, completes required continuing education, and maintains knowledge of healthcare and pharmacy developments.

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours.

• Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Prefer good math skills for accurate prescription filling, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications.
• Prefer good computer skills and knowledge of store inventory control.
• Prefer PTCB certification.
