ED Communication Specialist Nights

Job Description

ED Communication Specialist Full Time Nights –

DMC Sinai‑Grace Hospital is DMC’s largest hospital offering comprehensive services including a heart center, cancer care, gerontology, emergency medicine, obstetrics/gynecology and cosmetic services.

• Expedite and coordinate all transfers from external facilities.
• Activate STEMI process, stroke team notification, major communicable disease response, chempack team, decontamination team, and all communications from outside agencies regarding bi‑terrorism/decontamination/code yellow; activate trauma pager.
• Handle operations of all communication equipment utilized to receive notifications of critical patient transports, disasters, or mass casualty events.
• Maintain appropriate log sheets and data.
• Attend appropriate trauma systems monthly meetings.
• Provide telemetry response.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High School graduation or equivalent.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• State of Michigan license for Emergency Medical Technician.
• One to two years experience as EMT, preferred.
• Dispatch certification recommended, not required.
