Our Client, a Healthcare company, is looking for a Tele Tech - Tele Monitor Technician for their York, ME location.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains ongoing, high-level surveillance of patients’ cardiac rhythms and notifies nursing clinicians of any rate/rhythm changes according to clinician/provider orders.
- Collection of data necessary for placement of telemetry
- Measures and interprets patients’ heart rhythm and documents on patient record per department standards. of intervals for strip documentation
- Ectopy checks twice per shift
- Daily telemetry box maintenance
- Answers telephone and communicates clearly when receiving information from units or providers.
- Uses clear and complete communication with the unit personnel when delivering information about changes in patient rhythm.
- Accurate charging of telemetry, chart maintenance
- EKG procedures.
- The Monitor Technician maintains the highest standards of practice in the clinical setting and is responsible for creating exceptional patient/family experiences during the delivery of this care.
- Initiates and discontinues monitoring equipment on admission, transfer, or discharge. Performs configuration as necessary.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Successful completion of Client Clinical and Professional Development Dysrhythmia Course and EKG exam prior to completion of orientation.
- BLS certified
- Acquires and maintains ongoing education in the field of practice.
- Two years’ experience monitoring ECG/Dysrhythmia in a physician’s office, clinic, hospital, or similar setting required.
- Knowledge of basic anatomy /physiology of the heart.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, clinicians, and the general public.
- Ability to work under moderate pressure for extended periods of time.
- Ability to accept responsibility for accuracy and response times to emergent and non-emergent requests.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
- The employee frequently is required to stand and walk and is occasionally required to sit.
- The employee is required to frequently use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; and reach with arms and legs.
