Training Duration: 12 months
Hours: 32-40 hours per week
Compensation:$16.00-$17.00 per hour

Host Company Description

The host company is a historic, full-service inn located 20 minutes north of Portland, in Freeport, Maine. Freeport is home to the iconic L.L. Bean flagship store and many other outlet stores, boutiques, and local shops. Wolfe’s Neck Woods is a beautiful state park with hundreds of acres of forest, salt marsh, and rocky shoreline and is great for hiking, birdwatching, and shoreline walks!

Freeport offers the best in fresh seafood – enjoy lobster rolls or clam chowder in one of Freeport’s cozy taverns, seafood shacks, or high-end restaurants.

Position Description
  • Learn all aspects of high-volume food service
  • Assist in preparing food for service (e.g., chop vegetables, butcher meat, or prepare sauces)
  • Assist in preparing menu items under supervision
  • Advance management skills and supervisory duties
  • To apply for the Internship program, applicants must be hospitality, culinary, or restaurant management undergraduate/graduate students OR be recent graduates who begin the program within 12 months of their graduation date
  • To apply for the Trainee program, applicants must have either a degree or professional certificate from a foreign post-secondary academic institution and at least 1 year of prior related work experience in the hospitality, restaurant management, or culinary field acquired outside the United States OR 5+ years of experience in this field.
  • Applicants must speak ADVANCED ENGLISH, have a positive attitude, and the ability to communicate with clients and hotel associates
