Lead Steward

Overview

Lead Steward role at Cliff House Maine. This position is responsible for assisting with the daily supervision of stewarding operations, supervising stewards, and ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the property s supplies and stewarding areas.

• Maintain a positive physical appearance of the stewarding and back of house areas.
• Prepare and maintain appropriate activity reports and daily logs of events.
• Maintain continuous observation of stewarding supplies, work storage and surrounding areas to ensure safety hazards are reported and corrected promptly; prioritize employee safety.
• Check work stations for proper supplies, organization, cleanliness and mechanical problems; instruct designated personnel to correct deficiencies.
• Communicate kitchen and restaurant service needs from stewarding throughout the shift and ensure all requirements are met according to specifications.
• Assist stewarding staff with their job functions as needed to ensure optimum cleanliness and service standards.

• Flexibility. Willingness to work varied days and hours; demonstrated ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience. Previous experience in food and beverage, preferably in a leadership role.
• Knowledge. Proper cleaning techniques, chemical handling, and use of equipment and machinery.
• People person. Ability to create positive experiences for others and work well with a team.
• Great communicator. Fluent English in verbal and written form.
