Service Operations Center – Technical Support Engineer – Gdańsk, Poland

Nevion is currently expanding its Service Operations Team and is seeking a Service Operations Engineer to work as part of the team based in our Gdansk office. As a member of the Service Operations team, you will be at the forefront of customer interactions from 1st line support to troubleshooting issues on some of the most important broadcast and media solutions globally.

Your major responsibility will be making sure that the problems you address will not resurface.

In this role you will be responsible for sharing your knowledge and skills to bring the newly formed Service Monitoring Team to the next level. This is a unique opportunity where you will primarily be working with international customers and supporting some of the global leading providers of media services.

• Operating the Service Monitoring platform and collaborating with internal service teams to meet our customers’ individual needs for their network and application deployments.
• Troubleshooting the customer network and application issues
• Recreating customer issues in the Nevion Test Lab
• Following up on the service level agreement
• Working in close contact with the Nevion development and product management teams to optimize customer solutions
• Taking ownership of tickets and customer interactions.

• Technical Degree
• 2 plus years’ experience from working in a Network Operations Center

• Preferably, experience from the broadcast field or IT/Network industry including:
• Systems administration (Linux and Windows).
• Experience with virtualization technologies (Hypervisors, VMware)
• Experience managing full 3 tier application stacks from the OS up through custom applications
• Experience in Database administration
• Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP, DNS and TCP/IP.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Network switch certifications
• Experience with Splunk, Elastic Stack, Kibana
• Experience with Runbooks
• Able to perform tasks independently (remotely)
• Flexible team player
• Solution oriented
• Systematic
• Excellent communications skills

• Fluency in spoken and written English is a must as the official working language is English.
• We offer salary commensurate with qualifications.
• International travel should be expected
• The Operations Center provides 24/7 coverage so the Operations Engineer must be flexible to work all shifts including some holidays and weekends.
