The Role
Joining Moderna offers the unique opportunity to be part of a pioneering team that's revolutionizing medicine through mRNA technology, with a diverse pipeline of development programs across various diseases.
As an employee, you'll be part of a continually growing organization, working alongside exceptional colleagues and strategic partners worldwide, contributing to global health initiatives.
Moderna's commitment to advancing the technological frontier of mRNA medicines ensures a challenging and rewarding career experience, with the potential to make a significant impact on patients' lives worldwide.
Moderna is solidifying its presence within our international business services hub in Warsaw, Poland, a city renowned for its rich scientific and technological heritage. This hub provides critical functions, meeting the growing demand of Moderna’s global business operations. We're inviting professionals from around the world to join our mission and contribute to the future of mRNA medicines.
As Moderna continues to expand its global operations to deliver the greatest possible impact through mRNA medicines, we are seeking a Windows Server Engineer to join our Warsaw-based technology hub. Supporting a global remit, this critical role sits within the team responsible for the design, implementation, administration, and support of Windows-based server environments across Moderna's research and pharmaceutical production.
You will bring deep technical expertise across core Windows Server roles including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and File/Print services. You’ll be hands-on and detail-driven, with a strong focus on automation, troubleshooting, system performance, and enterprise security. This is a unique opportunity to help build and scale global infrastructure that is foundational to Moderna’s science and digital platform — including direct exposure to modern AI tools and evolving generative technology stacks.
WhatYou Will Do
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Architecting highly available server solutions for Moderna’s corporate, research, and pharmaceutical production environments, leveraging Windows Server and Azure services.
- Serving as the subject matter expert (SME) for the Windows Server platform during design, planning, and implementation of global technology projects.
- Managing multi-forest Active Directory environments, including site topology, DNS zone management, replication health, OU delegation, and lifecycle management of domain controllers.
- Leading assessments and implementations that enhance identity and server security, incorporating least privilege principles and administrative tiering.
Your responsibilities will also include:
- Acting as the final escalation point for complex system issues, including performance, network, and authentication-related challenges.
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining Windows Server security baselines and patching programs to ensure system integrity.
- Creating, managing, and troubleshooting Group Policy Objects (GPOs) for user and device configurations.
- Administering services such as DNS, File and Print, RDS, Windows Failover Clustering, and Active Directory Certificate Services (ADCS).
- Developing automation tools and scripts using Power Shell to improve efficiency across system operations and configuration management.
- Participating in the global on-call support rotation and responding to escalated incidents when needed.
We digitize everywhere possible using the power of code to maximize our impact on patients. In this role, your work will directly influence Moderna’s digital infrastructure — using automation, Power Shell, and scripting to drive scalable, reliable systems that enable scientific innovation.
We behave like owners. The solutions we’re building go beyond any job description. You’ll need to think beyond tickets and tasks, proactively identifying opportunities to improve architecture, security, and operations — all with a focus on enabling Moderna’s mission to improve lives globally through mRNA medicines.
