Overview
The Role
Joining Moderna offers the opportunity to be part of a pioneering team advancing medicine through mRNA technology, with a diverse pipeline across diseases. You will be part of a growing organization, working with exceptional colleagues and strategic partners worldwide to contribute to global health initiatives. Moderna is expanding its international business services hub in Warsaw, Poland, to support growing global operations.
We invite professionals from around the world to join our mission and contribute to the future of mRNA medicines.
In this highly collaborative and technically challenging role, you will join Moderna’s global Infrastructure & Operations team as a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, operating at the intersection of cloud architecture, automation, and hybrid infrastructure. You will support, scale, and secure Moderna’s cloud environments in AWS and Azure, and integrate these with on-premises systems. The role emphasizes Infrastructure-as-Code, automation, observability, and compliance, with deep hands-on expertise in multi-cloud environments.
You’ll partner with peers globally to ensure best practices across hybrid infrastructure, with a strong focus on operational excellence. This is a high-impact individual contributor role based in Warsaw.
Here’s
What You’ll Do:
Responsibilities
Operate, manage, and support cloud infrastructure in AWS and Azure with emphasis on performance, availability, and security.
Administer and integrate on-premises environments with public cloud platforms to support hybrid infrastructure requirements.
Troubleshoot OS-level and networking issues across Linux and Windows systems, ensuring uptime and reliability.
Execute patching and ongoing platform maintenance to ensure alignment with compliance and regulatory standards.
Collaborate across regions on global projects, driving unified operational approaches.
Your responsibilities will also include:
Develop and manage Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, AWS Cloud Formation, and Packer, as well as ARM templates or Bicep for Azure.
Build automation scripts in Python, Bash, or Power Shell to streamline operational tasks across AWS and Azure.
Contribute to CI/CD pipeline integration for infrastructure delivery, enforcing IAC principles across environments.
Configure, manage, and optimize observability tools – including monitoring, logging, and alerting – across cloud platforms.
Collaborate with security and compliance teams to meet audit and governance requirements.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of systems, procedures, and configurations to support team-wide knowledge growth and scalability.
The key Moderna Mindsets you’ll need to succeed in the role:
“We digitize everywhere possible using the power of code to maximize our impact on patients.” This role is grounded in Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD, and automation, so the ability to think and act in code is vital to drive impact and maintain high standards of infrastructure scalability, speed, and resilience.
“We obsess over learning. We don’t have to be the smartest; we have to learn the fastest.” You will be working across evolving multi-cloud environments and with global teams—success here demands continuous learning, iteration, and skill adaptation as technology and regulatory landscapes evolve.

Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (e.g., EC2, IAM, VPC, Cloud Watch) and similar Azure services (e.g., VMs, Resource Groups, Azure Monitor, VNets).
Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform, Cloud Formation, or Azure-native tools (ARM/Bicep).
Scripting experience in Python, Power Shell, or Bash.
Solid understanding of Linux/Windows systems and cloud networking.
Preferred Qualifications
AWS and/or Azure certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, Sys Ops Admin).
Experience with CI/CD tools like Git Hub Actions, Azure Dev Ops, AWS Code Pipeline, or Jenkins.
