Executive Director – Johns Bay Coastal Alliance Education Service Center

The newly formed Johns Bay Coastal Alliance Education Service Center (JBCA ESC) is seeking its inaugural Executive Director. The ESC will administer Bristol Consolidated School and South Bristol School (Pre‑K–8) beginning July 1, 2026.

The Executive Director reports to the JBCA board (ten members) and oversees all business and non‑instructional elements of the organization, operating under a shared leadership structure alongside a superintendent/curriculum coordinator.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring operational efficiency, fiscal responsibility, and compliance with state and federal requirements.
  • Fostering collaboration among the two districts.
  • Managing contracted services for technology, facilities, transportation, nutrition, and superintendent services.
  • Leading the hiring process for a Finance Clerk.

Desired qualifications:

  • Strong background in organizational leadership, budgeting, personnel supervision, and collaborative governance.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible leadership experience in school district or education service administration.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of school business operations, facilities management, transportation systems, technology systems, and child nutrition services, as well as mastery of policies, contracts, and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Physical ability to perform duties as required, including attending evening meetings and responding to emergencies.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred) and ongoing relevant professional development.
  • Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Salary range is regionally competitive and dependent upon qualifications and experience. Benefits include health, dental and vision services, PTO, and professional development opportunities. A compensated preparatory period will begin in January, with the position officially starting July 1, 2026.
