CNC Machinist

Job Purpose

Performs the following tasks, set up machine equipment and cutting tools according to process documents, load parts, set origins, execute CNC programs, make offset adjustments as necessary, inspect and document all features created during current operation.

• Reads and interprets blueprints.
• Maintains good housekeeping practices.
• Receives instruction from supervisor and translates to appropriate actionable tasks.
• Verifies work to be done by reading process router.
• Ensures that jobs are in accordance to specifications.
• Performs basic shop math.
• Performs setup operations to process documents.
• Uses general working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning Tolerance, Cartesian coordinate system to produce product.
• Understands & adheres to quality system.
• Understands and maintains traceability (product, material and calibration).
• Uses basic inspection tools & techniques to manufacture parts.
• Performs basic part measurement inspections.
• Follows policies and procedures.
• Uses machine function and fundamentals to efficiently complete tasks.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Uses cutting tool principles and holding techniques.
• Loads parts with hoist system.
• Performs daily machine maintenance.
• Understands and runs programs per approved instructions.
• Creates, inspects, and documents part features.
• Meets established productivity expectations.
• Ensures supervisor is briefed on relevant issues.
• Perform additional tasks as required or assigned by manager.

• Machinist level 2: (In addition to level
  1)
• Performs manufacturing mathematics and calculations.
• Reads and interprets complex GD&T dimensioning.
• Understands advanced inspection tools and techniques.
• Performs complex part measurement inspection.
• Uses cutting tools for accurate part completion with ability to trouble shoot.
• Performs accurate cutting speed and feed calculations.
• Ensures smooth manufacturing process and productivity flow.
• Ability to learn and work independently.
