Location DescriptionMichael Foods, Inc. is located in Mars Hill, Maine. Pineland Farms is one of the largest food manufacturing organizations in Aroostook County. Our Mars Hill facility employs over 200 team members who work together to provide our customers with the best possible potato product.
Position SummaryThis role provides technical support in the manufacturing plants. Quality Assurance Technicians (QATs) give guidance to Operations on technical requirements and specifications. The position must comply with all safety work rules at all times and reinforce Safety as a core value.
Duties and Responsibilities- Perform routine CCP/PC verification checks.
- Perform routine CQP (quality) verification checks.
- Perform routine daily SSOP/GMP audits and observations/documentation.
- Conduct environmental monitoring swabs.
- Perform product sampling pulls.
- Execute Pre‑op inspections.
- Participate in sensory panels.
- Manage Hold Tags on the floor.
- Conduct product testing for chemical attributes on the floor.
- Follow all SQF principles pertinent to your position, as specified by the SQF Practitioner.
- Report all food safety and human safety concerns to the appropriate personnel such as Safety Manager, FSQ Manager, etc.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Knowledge
- Excellent computer literacy (MS Office, Word, Excel).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong reasoning and mathematical skills.
- Strong leadership skills.
Education / Experience
- 1–2 years of experience in a similar job function.
- Food manufacturing experience desired.
- Experience reviewing results and correlating them to acceptable or unacceptable outcomes.

Physical DemandsThe job requires sitting, talking, hearing, reaching with hands and arms, occasionally standing, walking, and using hands to finger, handle, or feel objects.
