Manufacturing Operator, 3rd Shift (Onsite)

What You Will Do- This is an AWW (weekend) shift opportunity:
Friday – Sunday, 3‑12 hour shifts (5:00 am–5:30 pm) – work 36 hours, get paid for 40. - Position is designed for individuals with little or no machining or grinding background to gain skills needed to become a Certified Operator at Pratt & Whitney.
- Employees selected will attend a 3‑week training program and participate in 4–8 weeks of on‑the‑job training.
- Learn to set up and operate NC milling/grinding machines, vertical turret lathes or VTCs for routine production operations on a variety of weldments and assemblies.
- Work from operation sheets, part travelers, BOROPS, and oral instruction to set up equipment for grinding, turning, facing, boring, and/or chamfering operations involving limited surfaces.
- Verify conformance of finished work to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
- Obtain operator certification to accept or reject parts.
- Maintain machines by performing required total preventive maintenance (TPM).
- Collaborate with engineers, quality assurance, programmers, and other production personnel to resolve machining problems and assist in part process development.
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Skills, systems, and processes critical to aerospace manufacturing within a state‑of‑the‑art facility.

- High School or GED.
- 1+ years of manufacturing, automotive or related trade experience.
- Ability to make computations involving decimals and fractions.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.
