Here's an overview of our US Manufacturing

  • In June 2025, Molnlycke announced a 115 million (approx. $125 million) expansion of its Brunswick manufacturing site 1.
  • This is the company's largest investment to date, aimed at increasing production capacity for advanced wound care dressings.
  • The expansion supports Molnlycke's localization strategy, ensuring products are manufactured closer to where they are sold, improving supply chain resilience and reducing environmental impact.
  • The facility will incorporate renewable energy sources (wind and solar), cutting-edge machinery, and U.S.

-sourced equipment, aligning with the company's sustainability and innovation goals.
  • The project is expected to increase the local workforce by 10%, create new jobs in engineering and quality control, and engage local contractors 1 2.
Wiscasset Facility
  • Molnlycke's presence in Maine began in 2010 with the acquisition of Rynel Inc., a Wiscasset-based company specializing in hydrophilic polyurethane foam used in wound care.
  • In 2014, Molnlycke invested an additional $5.5-$7 million to expand the Wiscasset site, enhancing its production capabilities and reducing the need to ship products overseas for processing 3.
  • The Wiscasset facility plays a key role in producing foam components for Molnlycke's wound dressings, which are then assembled at other locations like Brunswick.
  • Together, these facilities form a critical part of Molnlycke's North American supply chain, supporting both domestic and international markets. The company's continued investment in Maine underscores its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and local economic development.
