About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Machinist / CNC Programmer to join a growing manufacturing team specializing in precision molds, fixtures, and equipment for the medical industry. This role requires expertise in CNC programming, machining, and mold fabrication, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and collaborate with engineering teams. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, safety‑conscious, and skilled in producing high‑precision components that meet exacting quality standards.
Responsibilities:- Program, set up, and operate CNC mills and manual machining equipment to produce precision parts, molds, fixtures, and jigs.
- Interpret blueprints, CAD models, and technical drawings to determine machining methods, setups, and tooling requirements.
- Perform complex CNC programming using CAM software (e.g., Solid Works, Fusion
360) to achieve tight tolerances and superior accuracy. - Conduct detailed inspections of finished components using precision measurement instruments to ensure quality compliance.
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to improve manufacturability, tooling design, and machining processes.
- Perform mold maintenance, including disassembly, cleaning, repair, and reassembly.
- Maintain equipment by performing routine cleaning, lubrication, and troubleshooting tasks to ensure peak performance.
- Safely handle machines, tools, and materials, adhering to all safety guidelines and participating in required safety training.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications or trade school training preferred.
- Proven experience in CNC programming, setup, and operation, with additional manual machining expertise.
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software such as Solid Works, Fusion
360, or similar programs. - Strong knowledge of machining processes, shop mathematics, and metal properties.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, operating instructions, and safety manuals.
- Mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of hydraulic systems, electrical wiring, lubrication, and cooling systems.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks associated with machining operations.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Qualifications:
- Experience in mold fabrication and maintenance for medical or high‑precision manufacturing.
- Background in process optimization and tooling improvements.
- Hands‑on experience with inspection techniques, precision measurement instruments, and quality control practices.
- Demonstrated ability to suggest design or process improvements to engineering teams.
