Nurse Clinician – Genetics Metabolism

Job Description –

Under general supervision of the manager for the specialty area, participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team to provide consultative nursing services within a clinical area of specialization. Serve as a patient advocate and provide emotional support and home care instructions for patients and families; provide ongoing staff and community education and support the implementation of outreach/outpatient programs.

• Assist in patient care within the genetics metabolism specialty
• Advocate for patients and families, offering emotional support and post-discharge instructions
• Educate staff and community on genetics and metabolic disorders
• Support outreach and outpatient program implementation

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN)
• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Michigan
• Specialty certification by professional organization preferred
• Minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience, including one year in the area of specialization (or two to three years of pediatric nursing experience if in a pediatric setting, with one year in the area of specialization); pediatric acute care experience preferred
