Job Description –
Job SummaryUnder general supervision of the manager for the specialty area, participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team to provide consultative nursing services within a clinical area of specialization. Serve as a patient advocate and provide emotional support and home care instructions for patients and families; provide ongoing staff and community education and support the implementation of outreach/outpatient programs.
Responsibilities- Assist in patient care within the genetics metabolism specialty
- Advocate for patients and families, offering emotional support and post-discharge instructions
- Educate staff and community on genetics and metabolic disorders
- Support outreach and outpatient program implementation
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Michigan
- Specialty certification by professional organization preferred
- Minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience, including one year in the area of specialization (or two to three years of pediatric nursing experience if in a pediatric setting, with one year in the area of specialization); pediatric acute care experience preferred
