Good Will-Hinckley is seeking a School Nurse for their Glenn Stratton Learning Center. This is a special purpose private school located in Hinckley, Maine. The position works on the 175‑school calendar with workdays Monday through Friday when students are on campus, five hours per day at Glenn Stratton Learning Center.
Requirements Of The School Nurse- Licensed BSN in the State of Maine
- School Nurse Certificate 524, or able to be certified through Maine Department of Education.
- Pediatric and/or psychiatric nursing experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR).
- Knowledge of adolescent development, trauma‑informed practices, and conflict management.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Satisfactory reference, background checks and physical. Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Hourly wage range of $30.00 to $35.00

- Provide direct nursing care including first aid, illness management, and emergency response for students. Identify health problems, make referrals for diagnosis and treatment, and provide appropriate follow up and evaluation.
- Oversee and monitor student medication administration practices and documentation.
- Complete all required health screenings (vision/hearing) per Maine Department of Education protocol.
- Observe students and document symptoms such as side effects, and reactions to medications, injuries, or health concerns.
- Document all student contact, treatments, and incidents in the Electronic Health Records (AWARDS).
- Initiate and maintain contact with and act as liaison between the school, parents/guardians, and outside providers to ensure continuity to meet health and safety needs of students.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, FERPA, and all agency confidentiality standards.
- Purchase and maintain supplies and equipment as indicated for the medical room at GSLC.
