Registered Nurse (RN) – Nursing Supervisor (Nights)Job Type: Contract
Shift: Full-Time | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Shift Details: Variable nights with call rotation
Duration: 13 weeks

We are seeking an experienced RN Nursing Supervisor to lead and oversee clinical operations during night shifts. This role is responsible for coordinating staff and resources to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care across multiple departments. The Nursing Supervisor serves as a clinical and operational leader, supporting staff, managing patient flow, and responding to urgent situations during assigned shifts.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure continuous and timely access to urgent care, emergency, inpatient, and operative services
- Oversee daily hospital operations through electronic systems, direct communication, and unit rounds
- Allocate and adjust staffing and resources based on patient acuity, unit needs, and staff competencies
- Coordinate scheduled, direct, and emergency admissions to optimize patient placement and capacity
- Lead organizational response during high census periods in collaboration with nursing leadership and clinical departments
- Provide crisis management support and interpret policies and procedures as needed
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across departments to enhance patient and staff satisfaction
- Promote patient safety, quality care, and operational efficiency
- Active RN license in the State of Maine or Compact License required
- Minimum 3 years of progressive leadership or management experience (5 years preferred)
- Prior experience as a Charge Nurse, Unit Coordinator, Manager, or Director preferred
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills
- Ability to work variable night shifts with call rotation
- BLS/BCLS
- ACLS
- Accurate and timely completion of timecards is required in accordance with established policies
