American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg position requiring a minimum of 2 years experience and a Maine or compact RN license.

• Med/Surg General unit in a 45-bed hospital setting
• Patient population includes orthopedic, general surgery, and urology cases with top diagnoses of CHF, COPD, and PNA
• Pediatric patients admitted to the general floor require the nurse to hold PALS certification
• Patient ratios are 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights
• Day shift schedule from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within a 25-mile radius between facilities as needed
• Uses Plum pumps, Pyxis, Ascom phones, bladder scanner, EKG machine, and Phillips Cardiac Monitor
• EMR system used is Epic

• Active RN license (Maine or compact) required
• BLS and ACLS required, PALS preferred (required only to care for pediatric patients)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• IV skills and telemetry monitoring experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Driver's License required for consideration
• 2 professional references required

• Provide direct patient care to medical-surgical, orthopedic, general surgery, and urology patients
• Document patient care accurately per unit protocols
• Join a team-oriented unit valuing a positive, professional, and patient-focused attitude
• Scrubs may be any color without prints, clean and in good repair; hoodies, crocs, and open-toe shoes are not permitted
• Air pods, laptops, and cell phone usage are prohibited on the unit
• RTO should be minimal, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for the 13-week contract
• Local candidates within 90 miles of any Maine Health facility are considered local and are not eligible for contract renewals or extensions
• Candidates who have worked at any Maine Health facility within the past 12 months must disclose this upon consideration
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
