Who we need:

Barkan Management Company, a large well-established Diversified Property Management
Company, is seeking an experienced Property Manager for an affordable property with Project
Based Section 8 for Elderly/disabled located in Worcester, MA.
The successful candidate will have experience in management of large apartment communities,
including, management of all operational aspects; management of client expectations,
management of complex issues, such as fiduciary, physical facility improvements and
maintenance coordination, HUD/Mass Housing requirements, and have the ability to manage staff
and vendors.

We are seeking someone with strong property management, capital improvement planning and
implementation, and outstanding customer service skills who will promote excellence within
themselves and throughout the community. We are looking for a candidate who is committed and
has a willingness to excel in the field of property management.

What you’ll do:
  • Plan and develop daily operations. Schedule, supervise, and participate in the
    operational duties for 57 apartment units.
  • Recruit, supervise, train, schedule, discipline, review, and direct on-sitestaff.
  • Maintain accounting records, client reporting requirements, vendor expense
    control, and negotiating contracts and bids. Manage P&L statements, offering
    variance to budget explanations.
  • Respond to client inquiries and resolve client complaints
  • Attend all client and contract administrator meetings, offering management reports and advice
    on the physical and administration of the community. Keep recordsof meetings.
  • Assist other departments with required federal and state reporting.
  • Maintain compliance in accordance with Maine State Housing.
  • Maintain and ensure a safe facility environment including standards for
    maintenance and upkeep of the facility’s equipment, housekeeping, sanitation,
    uniform dress and expense control. Notify Portfolio Manager of all unusual events,
    circumstances, or other safety or quality control issues.
  • Always represent the company in a professional and positive manner. Maintain and
    enhance the company’s image when interacting with clients, guests, associates,
    and vendors.
  • Weekly/Monthly/Quarterly Property inspections and coordinate with Maintenance
    on the Annual Maintenance Calendar and scheduling of events.

Requirements

What we’re looking for:
  • High School Diploma/GED required. Bachelor’s or Business Degree preferred.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in related management required (facilities
    management such as hotel, resort, rental or condo).
  • COS and CAM preferred.
  • Ability to effectively organize and coordinate multiple priorities; be a team leader;
    ability to problem-solve.
  • Proven ability in personnel management.
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Actively look for ways to assist customers and coworkers.
  • Strong computer skills are required, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, and
    Outlook. Knowledge of Yardi software preferred.
  • Ability to present typical financial reports such as P&L, Variance to Budget, Balance
    Sheet, AR, AP, Bank statement reconciliation.
