The pay range for this position is $17.55-$22.82. Starting Pay is $17.55-$19.66 per hour and is negotiable based on experience, internal equity and active certifications.

Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties for over 50 years, seeks a part-time Cook. Join our team as a Cook, where you'll be responsible for preparing healthy, nutritious meals in our kitchen and helping maintain cleanliness in both the kitchen and dining areas. You'll also play a key role in creating a positive dining experience by working alongside our team to serve meals to residents in a warm and welcoming environment.

The schedule would consist of three 8-hour shifts (9:00am
-5:30pm) per week, totaling 24 hours per week. Week one would be Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, while week two would be Sunday, Thursday, and Friday.

• Cook, prepare, or serve meals as required.
• Maintain work environment, clean and sanitize meal preparation, serving and ding area. Assist in maintaining all policies and procedures related to dietary services.
• Participate in required meetings and trainings.
• Meet requirements of State and Federal Performance Regulations.
• Maintain appropriate boundaries with residents and families.

• High school diploma or equivalent, and 1-2 years' paid experience working in a kitchen.
• Ability to use small and large kitchen equipment.
• Be neat, clean, and well organized.
• Ability to read, write and perform basic math functions.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must comply with Penquis background check requirements with satisfactory results as outlined in current contract provisions.
