The Account Executive is responsible for generating ticket revenue through the sale of group tickets, season tickets, mini-plans, suites, picnics, birthdays, party decks, and other ticket packages. The position is focused primarily on group sales and requires consistent prospecting, outbound sales activity, relationship development, sales presentations, closing business, and account management.

The Account Executive will also assist with the execution of group events, ticket operations, sponsorship and promotional initiatives, and other general business operations of the Long Island Ducks. The position requires a highly motivated, organized, customer-focused individual who can work independently while contributing to the overall goals of the organization.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prospect and solicit companies, organizations, schools, community groups, and individuals for group and package ticket sales, with an emphasis on group sales.
  • Manage the complete group sales process, including prospecting, outreach, sales meetings, proposals, agreements, closing sales, account management, and follow-up.
  • Sell and coordinate group sales opportunities, including regular group tickets, suite rentals, picnics, birthday parties, party decks, and other group experiences.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients to generate new and repeat business.
  • Facilitate the execution of season ticket and package ticket sales, including contracts, invoices, ticket production, fulfillment, and mailing when necessary.
  • Work with the GM/SVP to facilitate and track group ticket printing, ticket pickup, account information, and related accounting requirements.
  • Assist with the execution of in-season group sales events, including picnics, birthdays, suites, game sponsor ships, and other special events.
  • Assist with ticket operations for special events at the ballpark that require in-house ticketing.
  • Assist with the daily operation of the retail box office, will-call window, and advance ticket window as needed.
  • Assist with managing game-day promotional staff and game-day promotion execution.
  • Maintain accurate and timely customer and sales information within applicable ticketing and CRM systems, including Glitnir and SEAT/File Maker.
  • Work directly with other departments on promotions, sales, marketing, sponsorship, community appearances, promotional operations, event execution, and quality control.
  • Identify and pursue additional revenue opportunities and contribute ideas that support department and organizational sales goals.
  • Participate in community appearances and represent the Long Island Ducks in a professional and positive manner.
  • Assist with other operational functions and organizational initiatives as assigned by management.
  • Provide exceptional customer service throughout the sales and account-management process.
  • Meet established individual and department sales goals and activity expectations.
  • Maintain a professional, organized, and team-oriented approach while working in a fast-paced sports and entertainment environment.
WORK SCHEDULE & ENVIRONMENT

This position requires flexibility based on the Long Island Ducks' schedule and business needs. The position requires regular evening, weekend, and holiday work, particularly during the baseball season. In-season game days:
Generally 11:00 a.m. through the conclusion of the game, unless otherwise directed by management. In-season non-game days:
Generally 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Off-season:
Generally 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The Account Executive must be willing and able to work extended hours, weekends, holidays, and other non-traditional hours as required by the team's schedule and business needs.

COMPENSATION

Hourly rate range between $17.00 - $19.00 dependent upon experience, guarantee 40 hour paid weeks, plus overtime and commission. Overtime is paid at 1.5 times the regular hourly rate for hours worked over 40 in a workweek, in accordance with applicable law. Eligible for commission opportunities based on applicable sales programs, including:

  • 0.25% commission on qualifying net group ticket sales.
  • 10% of net sales on new sponsorship clients and 7% of net sales on renewal sponsorship clients.
  • 10% on qualifying new season ticket accounts when applicable individual sales goals are achieved.
