PositionRegular Full time – 7am to 3pm Shift.
Compensation RangeThe base pay scale for this position is $32.78–$37.07 per hour. The final salary will be determined based on scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and a Fair Market Value evaluation.
What You Will Be DoingSecurity Officer:
• Serve as a resource for information and direction;
• Respond to urgent and emergent situations;
• Perform patrol functions and security checks throughout the campus;
• Report, investigate, and document incidents;
• Control internal and external traffic;
• Enforce rules and regulations to ensure and maintain a safe and orderly facility.
- Minimum one year of experience in a customer service or related environment that requires productivity and critical thinking.
- 18‑hour mandatory security class, plus an additional 16‑hour security class within the first three months of employment (if not already completed).
- Law enforcement or hospital security experience highly desirable.
- Ability to communicate with people at all levels, be culturally competent, and demonstrate good judgment and critical thinking.
- Ability to write reports and perform basic data entry.
Intermittent physical exertion, including sitting or standing for extended periods, rapid reaction and physical exertion in urgent situations, walking or running, assisting patients or staff in/out of cars or wheelchairs, climbing stairs, and lifting material or equipment up to 50 lbs. or more. Example tasks include traversing the hospital campus for security checks, escorting patients/visitors/staff, and assisting with evacuations using Emergency Management Equipment.
EnvironmentalWorking Conditions
Regular exposure to moderate physical discomfort from fumes or odors, temperature extremes, loud noises, and bright lights.
Hazards / OSHA CategoryCategory 2 tasks involving no exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues, or other potentially infectious materials; however, employment may require performing unplanned Category 1 tasks.
Education RequiredHigh School Diploma or equivalent (GED); may include specialized or vocational courses.
Certification / Licensure RequiredNYS Security Guard License and NYC Fire Guard License.
Certification / Licensure PreferredCurrent NYS Driver's License desired.
