Job Summary
As a Marine Systems Installer, you’ll install electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems that are essential to the safety, comfort, and reliability of every Hinckley yacht. The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in marine systems, with the ability to troubleshoot issues with confidence. Responsibilities- Installation: install electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems, including wiring, fixtures, engines, pumps, ventilation, and plumbing components. Ensure all installations are watertight.
- Tools: read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics. Measure, cut, and strip wire; connect wiring to terminals using appropriate tools.
- Test: test electrical systems for voltage, resistance, and phase angle using ohmmeters, voltmeters, and other equipment. Troubleshoot issues as needed.
- Safety compliance: follow prescribed safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
- Other: assist in the installation of engine over mount rails. May install intake and discharge fittings to provide water for plumbing and engine cooling. All duties as assigned.
- Experience:
minimum one year of relevant experience in marine systems installation or related trade. - Physical requirements:
lift and carry over 25 lbs. up to 60 lbs. - Certifications:
vocational technical school degree or certification (preferred). Must hold a valid driver's license. - Pre‑employment: all applicants must be able to successfully pass a background check as a condition of employment.
- Proficient in interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics.
- Ability to install and test electrical systems, plumbing fixtures, and mechanical components.
- Knowledge of marine safety standards with experience in watertight sealing, ventilation, and auxiliary systems.
