SUMMARY
We are looking for a skilled Mobile Fleet Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles in the field. The Mobile Fleet Technician plays a vital role in minimizing downtime for customers by providing efficient, reliable service directly at the job site or fleet yard.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Diagnose and Repair:
Identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and other systems. - Mobile Service Calls:
Travel to customer locations or roadside breakdowns using a fully equipped service truck to perform on-site repairs and diagnostics. - Emergency Response:
Be available for after-hours or emergency service calls as needed, depending on company requirements - Use Diagnostic Tools:
Operate computerized diagnostic tools and scan systems to pinpoint faults and verify repairs. - Customer Communication:
Explain repair needs, procedures, and timelines clearly to customers or fleet managers; maintain professional, customer-focused behavior. - Documentation and Reporting:
Complete detailed service reports, work orders, and inspection checklists accurately and on time.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a commercial diesel and/or trailer technician.
Possession of a valid driver's license is required. CDL, or willingness to obtain preferred.
Must provide own basic tools and toolbox.
Minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
JOB SCHEDULE
This role additionally requires flexibility beyond standard business hours to ensure company and customer needs are met, including being accessible via phone or e-mail during evenings or weekends to address time-sensitive maintenance needs.
