Full Time Seasonal Rangeley, ME, US

This is for overnight shifts for the 2026/2027 season. The tentative start date is November 15, 2026.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Set up guns and hoses as directed on the mountain.
• Produce quality snow through the use of air, water, and fan equipment.
• Relocate guns and hoses to various areas around the mountain.
• Adjust, turn and move snow guns to maintain snow making efficiency.
• Adjust the water and/or air flow to snow guns.
• Conduct regular maintenance checks on equipment including checking water pipes, fluid levels and volume, temperature controls, energy consumption and diesel fuel systems.
• Maintain all safety barriers, padding and guards around snow making equipment.
• Responsible for the safe operation of snow making guns and systems on hill and in snow making facilities.
• Required to understand and follow all operational procedures as well as the manufacturer’s recommended operating guidelines.
• Be able to follow OSHA and Workplace Safety Standards.
• Be able to follow instructions and communicate effectively.
• Be able to perform required daily maintenance in adverse conditions on multiple forms of transportation in a safe manner.
• Work safely in close proximity to heavy equipment, high voltage, and high water pressure.
• Work closely with and assist other departments such as Grooming, Ski Patrol, and Lift Operations.
• Test the quality of snow as it is made, report findings and conditions to supervisor.
• Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and during snowstorms.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Follow all safety protocols when working around high-pressure air/water lines, heavy machinery, and high voltage.
• Shoveling, clearing snow, and maintaining access paths to snow making equipment is required.

Skills and Abilities:

• Have the ability to operate a snowmobile in adverse conditions on rugged terrain.
• Self-motivated and able to satisfactorily perform tasks without supervision.
• Able to operate snow making equipment safely.
• Must possess valid driver’s license.
• Good organizational and mechanical skills.
• Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions.
• Basic hand tool knowledge.

Required

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver’s License

Physical Demands:

• Work outside in an extreme cold environment for 12-hour shifts.
• Lift up to 60 pounds.
• Walk on snowy and icy slopes at various inclines, at times in total darkness.
• Use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; taste or smell, talk and hear.
• Specific visual abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
