Senior PHP Engineer (Laravel) – High-Load SaaS Platform

We are currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer (PHP) to join the dedicated pdf Filler team. pdf Filler is our online PDF creator and editor, relied upon by more than 10 million people monthly for creating, editing, signing, and securely storing documents.

• Work on the CORE functionality of a large, high-load product used by millions worldwide.
• Direct influence on product stability, scalability, and architectural direction.
• A challenging mix of backend engineering, performance optimization, internal tooling, and platform integrations.
• Close collaboration with Dev Ops, Security, Performance Engineering, and cross-functional product teams.
• Opportunity to contribute significantly to long-term architectural evolution and engineering best practices.

• Develop, maintain, and enhance CORE platform components and internal backend services.
• Shape architectural decisions and contribute to system simplification and modernization efforts.
• Build secure, reliable, and high-performance backend solutions.
• Work closely with Dev Ops to improve CI/CD, observability, deployment workflows, and system reliability.
• Support and elevate security initiatives, including authentication/authorization approaches (RBAC/ABAC).
• Participate actively in code reviews, design discussions, and incident resolution.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable new product capabilities built on top of the CORE platform.

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience, including 3+ years specifically with PHP.
• Strong expertise with PHP and the Laravel ecosystem.
• Solid experience with relational databases (MySQL, Postgre
  
  SQL) and distributed storage systems (e.g., Redis).
• Understanding of secure coding principles and modern authentication/authorization approaches.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerized environments.
• Background working with high-load systems or platform-level services is a strong advantage.
• English proficiency suitable for technical discussions.
