Overview
Camp Laurel South, among the most prestigious and well-respected camps in the country, is seeking a qualified Golf Counselor for the summer of 2026. We offer quality instruction designed to allow children to participate in activities they love, while also giving them the chance to explore new and exciting opportunities. Your primary goal is to create a positive and supportive learning environment that fosters skill development, confidence, and a love for the game of golf.
Responsibilities- Lesson Planning and Instruction:
Develop and implement engaging golf lessons tailored to campers’ ages and abilities; provide hands-on instruction to build fundamental skills such as grip, stance, swing, short game, and putting. - Skill Development:
Assess campers’ golf abilities and adapt lessons to their skill levels; focus on individual improvement while encouraging group learning and camaraderie. - Gameplay and Strategy:
Organize and oversee practice rounds, driving range sessions, and short-game challenges; teach golf etiquette, course management, and the rules of the game. - Safety and Equipment Management:
Ensure a safe and organized environment at all times; monitor and maintain golf equipment, reporting any issues and ensuring proper storage. - Teamwork and Sportsmanship:
Foster a culture of encouragement, patience, and respect on and off the course; promote teamwork, good sportsmanship, and positive attitudes among campers. - Adaptability:
Adjust instruction to accommodate a wide range of learning styles and skill levels; remain flexible to meet the needs and progress of individual campers.
- Previous experience coaching or playing golf preferred.
- Strong knowledge of golf fundamentals, etiquette, and strategy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with campers of varying ages and abilities.
Duration:
Two-month commitment, June 16 – August 17, 2026. Room and board provided while working at camp.
