We are currently seeking a motivated Drainage Lead to join our Southeast Region in Maitland, FL, Miami, or Tampa, FL.
The ideal candidate will develop strong relationships with clients and staff, maintain high project standards, and exceed client expectations.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and at least 15+ years of drainage engineering experience post-registration.
What You’ll Be Doing- Lead the Southeast Drainage team supporting organizational growth and performance
- Represent Volkert with clients, stakeholders, and industry environments
- Manage resources to meet company and individual goals
- Maintain client contacts with FDOT and Local Municipalities, marketing and obtaining work
- Collaborate with other service lines for marketing and project support
- Oversee engineering deliverables related to Drainage and roadway infrastructure
- Lead staff in developing plans and calculations for transportation and drainage projects
- Design stormwater management facilities to meet water quality and quantity standards
- Ensure policies, methods, practices, and procedures are followed
- Oversee design and Quality Control for roadway and drainage projects
- Hire, retain, supervise, and mentor staff as Drainage Engineer Lead
- Represent Volkert at conferences and industry events, making presentations as needed
- Prepare and present project reports and studies
- Assist in staffing plans and work forecasting
- Provide team leadership, project management, and mentorship
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and 15+ years of drainage engineering experience
- Experience managing staff in drainage design and production for transportation projects
- Prior experience as a drainage engineer on civil or transportation projects
- Ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- PE license required;
Florida license or ability to obtain within six months - Experience designing drainage systems in compliance with FDOT standards
- Proficiency in ICPR, HEC-RAS, Geopak Drainage, Geopak, Inroads, Corridor Modeling, Microstation or similar CAD software
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and possess a valid driver's license and satisfactory MVR
