Director of Studies

Role Overview

The Senior Teaching Manager is responsible for overseeing the academic functions of the center, maintaining and improving academic quality, recruiting, supporting and developing teachers, and coordinating related administrative tasks.

• Supervise and report to the Center Director and Academic Operations Manager
• Recruit and evaluate teachers
• Support and assist teachers with duties such as lesson planning, marking, and finalizing the teaching schedule
• Conduct induction and training of teachers
• Provide substitution for absent teachers and handle disciplinary procedures for teachers
• Ensure teachers prepare lesson plans, materials, attendance registers, lesson and homework records, assessment scores, and student reports
• Arrange substitution for absent teachers
• Conduct meetings with parents and students as required and host placement tests when needed
• Plan, run, and participate in the center’s professional development program
• Handle complaints concerning the academic operations of the center
• Assist with marketing activities and any other related administrative tasks that may arise

• Can be placed in English 1 Manado and/or Makassar and/or Gowa
• 120H World TESOL/TEFL qualification is mandatory; CELTA/DELTA certificate optional subject to terms and conditions
• IELTS speaking score minimum 7.5
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Minimum 2-5 years of experience in management, ideally in the service industry
• Strong people skills, team leadership, and management abilities
• Experience in cross‑cultural environments is a plus
• Proven ability to analyze and interpret data
• Organized, detail‑oriented, and able to prioritize multiple projects
• Positive attitude, works well in a team, enjoys meeting people, and is passionate about teaching and making friends
