Position: K–8 Music Teacher

Type: Full-Time, Annual Appointment
Location: Mystic Valley Regional Charter School, Malden, MA

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in music education, a passion for teaching. This role emphasizes cultivating musical skills, encouraging artistic expression, and preparing students for performance opportunities through engaging, skill-based instruction.

• Design and implement engaging, goal-driven lessons that promote creativity and musical growth
• Regularly assess and document student progress; provide timely feedback through report cards and progress reports
• Foster a structured, positive learning environment by consistently applying MVRCS’s assertive discipline model
• Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and department planning sessions
• Support and lead school-wide musical events, concerts, and performances
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Assistant Director

• Experience teaching music and/or conducting string ensembles
• Ability to adapt instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners across multiple grade levels
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills
• Commitment to inspiring student engagement, creativity, and performance readiness
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to analyze student performance and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
• Collaborative mindset and a demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues
• Knowledge of state and federal education laws and school policies

This is a full-time position with a yearly contract, subject to annual performance evaluation.
