As a Senior Project Controller at Northrop Grumman you will be responsible for effective control of a complex, multi-million pound programme(s) within our Defence portfolio. This role is essential for ensuring our programmes run to time and cost, enabling effective delivery in order to provide value to our customers.

In line with departmental procedures, you will lead the development, maintenance, execution and control project performance measurement baselines within your programme in a robust project controls environment. You will be an important member of the PMO and will help to embed and drive project management best practice within the Portfolio, supporting more junior members of the team and the wider project management community.

• Ensure that customer and business processes are effectively and efficiently adhered to across the project team environment, with a dedication to continuous improvement and enhancement of current project controls methodologies.
• Applying Earned Value Management System (EVMS) performance standards, preferably to ANSI or APM standards
• Advanced practical application of Primavera P6, Deltek COBRA cost management system, and company ERP systems
• Lead, facilitate and plan cross-functional workshops, including schedule development, control, and analysis at the programme and account level.
• Building and Maintaining performance measurement baselines which includes well-defined scope, assumptions, deliverables, Cost and Work Breakdown Structures and integrated schedule that is resource loaded and allows for the integration of risk
• Leading and supporting cost management activities on projects, including cost estimating, cost control, change management, cost analysis, activity coding control, accruals, invoicing and expense management and the development of accurate Estimate At Completion
• Delivering reporting that defines the status of a project in relation to the project performance baseline, explaining reasons for deviation, and assisting with implementing corrective action plans.
• Assisting in proposals and change management preparation and reviews
• Reviewing, vetting and incorporating historical data.
• Ensuring that all working documents and data are maintained
• Coaching and mentoring of project team members in a matrix environment
• Communicating effectively with a range of external and internal stakeholders at all levels and functions
• Be a point of project controls subject matter expertise within a major programme or account.

• Significant, demonstrable Project Controls, Planning and/or Cost Management experience in a similar role in the defence or other regulated industry, managing controls throughout the entire project lifecycle.
• Awareness of commercial operations, and/or prime contract experience with, ideally in a SSRO QSC/CAAS reporting environment
