Physical Therapist Outpatient

Job Summary

Physical Therapist PT needed for Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital.

Responsible for planning and administering medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs for patients to restore function, relieve pain and prevent disability following disease, injury or loss of body part. They will be responsible for Physical Therapy Student and Physical Therapy Assistants as well as training new staff as needed.

Ideal candidates will bring experience in oncology rehabilitation or hold a CLT credential, or they demonstrate a strong interest in developing these skills. This role offers mentorship and support for clinicians looking to grow in oncology and lymphedema care.

• Establishes therapy goals and formulates a treatment plan based on evaluation results.
• Supervises PTAs according to organization policy and state regulations.
• Provides individual, family and group therapy sessions for clients engaged in outpatient therapy.
• Participates in the interdisciplinary group for hospice patients and the case conference meetings for home health patients.
• Participates in discharge planning.
• Provides initial assessment of clinical needs using standardized tools and protocols and facilitates recommendations for treatment.
• Records all pertinent data in the patient’s medical records.

Physical Therapist State License required. BLS Certification also required.

Experience working as a physical therapist in a hospital, rehab or ambulatory setting 1-2 years preferred.

• Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
• Teaching others how to do something.
