Under the direction of the Associate Director, Prospect Development Training and Support, the Manager, Prospect Development Training and Support will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of the event briefing process as well as maintenance of accurate data for key constituents in Advancement’s Raiser’s Edge database. This role will also deliver technical training, provide user support, and maintain a library of documentation for Raiser’s Edge users across the University in collaboration with the Associate Director.

Duties

  • Develop, implement, and refine a process for branded, consistent, and high-quality event briefing materials to be used by university leadership for engagement and cultivation of key donors and prospects at University events.
  • Leverage data tools and liaise with staff across Advancement to develop event briefing materials for university leadership. Work with Prospect Research, Donor Relations, event managers, fundraisers, coordinators, and University leadership to gather logistical, biographical, and strategic data to construct electronic and hard copy briefing books.
  • Manage data integrity for key Pepperdine prospects and donors to ensure briefing materials are accurate and up-to-date at the time of briefing creation. Coordinate with Prospect Research and Advancement Services for constituent data collection and resulting updates to the Raiser's Edge NXT database for top donors, prospects, and University partners.
  • Assist the Associate Director, Prospect Development Training and Support with remote and in-person training class development, preparation, and delivery. Leverage tools for content creation and delivery in support of a modular training program for all Pepperdine Raiser's Edge NXT users.
  • Partner with the Associate Director, Prospect Development Training and Support in their efforts to develop and maintain an Advancement policy and process documentation library. Recommend new documentation or updates to existing documentation. Assist with content creation or revisions to keep the documentation library aligned with evolving policies and processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor's degree;
Two years experience in networked computer environments; one year of experience in a role that has provided user support; a minimum of two years experience with and knowledge of the features and capabilities of an Advancement database software (Raiser’s Edge highly preferred); two years of general office experience; experience with Microsoft Office products, and minimum two years experience with data entry procedures.

Experience with database programs and Microsoft Office products specifically proficient in Excel essential; excellent analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills, including written and verbal. Strong organization and time management skills, including the ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously while working with minimal guidance. Experience that demonstrates an inquiring mind, attention to detail, accuracy, meeting deadlines, internet research tools and techniques.

Demonstrated ability to work in and collaborate effectively in a team structure. Ability to listen actively, effectively convey information, negotiate, identify the nature of problems and bring them to resolve.

Preferred:
In-person and/or remote training experience;
Experience with database software features and capabilities, preferably RE/NXT; experience in a data position within Advancement with RE/NXT or a comparable database system and Microsoft Excel experience.
